A boy with wolf-like ears and a curled up bushy tail. Some things just kep getting stranger and stranger in the days like this. Teriel set onward with the giant wagon load trailing behind him. The rope bound tightly to his harness as he dragged the old wooden transporter with relative ease. It only weighed around 600 pounds, nothing near 2,000. It was like dragging along a teddy bear.
He was working a job to deliver a few things to the people all around the area. He didn't mind though as he sang a merry little song to keep him entertained. "We're gonna sing a song~ While we move along~" The carefree tune chimed in the wind. The creak of the wagon wheels merely a whisper in comparison.
Little did Teriel know that he was being watched. More than one person to be exact. One was a general being while the other, a rouge bandit, eyed the boy carefully. One false move could put the wily thief in a bad predicament. As for the next set of watchful eyes. Well it will need to wait for the grand revealing.

The sky spun as Sander threw back his head, waving and swirling in a way that would've made him nauseous if he wasn't so used to the sensation. The bitter burn of alcohol at the back of his throat was seductive - he threw the empty bottle to the soil of his camp and grabbed another from his bag.
He'd been sent on a scouting mission by the dreadful organization that was Dignitas. He was supposed to simply check the area for +anima, and any opposing faction bases or hideouts. He wasn't supposed to go after any large group alone, but he'd also been ordered to take the opportunity to attack if he caught one or two alone. Not that he actually would. No matter how much he drank, his anger at being drafted into a ruthless pack of killers wouldn't dull. ...At least this scouting mission was a break from the front lines.
"We're gonna sing a song~ While we move along~"
Sander perked up his gaze, just about to open the bottle when a voice caught his ears. "...Eh?" He carefully pushed himself to his feet and walked - or rather, stumbled, really - towards brush nearer to the voice. He felt a jolt as he peered over the edge - a boy with canine ears and a curly tail was hauling a large wagon load.
...A +anima. The man's eyes narrowed as he gave a snort. The boy acted completely carefree, singing a simple song as he passed by - he didn't realize how lucky he was that it was him who'd caught sight of him and not one of his fellow Dignitas members.
Although...a second bit of movement all at once caught his eye. ...Was there another figure there?
There was! His gaze found the bandit crouched nearby. "Hey, watch out!" He shouted on instinct towards the boy. He'd spoken without thinking - excess alcohol tended to do that to you - but he drew his long, standard issue dagger from his belt in case the need arose to use it.

Teriel flinched when he heard a voice call to him. His ears swiveled around to locate the stranger, turning his gaze to see the man. The alert wasn't in vain as he quickly shifted his gaze to the bandit, who was heading for the back of the wagon. Throwing on his clawed gloves he got ready to fight the intruder.
Turning the wagon so he faced the bandit he folded his ears back. A low rumble vibrated from his throat and the bandit stopped just to smirk and laugh. Teriel took the arrogance as an opportunity to circle the bant two times. Ha! Filthy +Anima! You aren't worth the fight you'd die in. The bandit jeered. All too soon Teriel dashed to the side.
The rope that had been on the ground around the foolish thief snapped up and quickly bound his legs. A fall was all it took before Teriel was on the bandit, clawed gloves pressed on his chest and throat. If you are gonna travel alone with valuable cargo, you need to know how to fight. "You shouldn't be rolling in the dirt, you'll get quite filthy that way." He spat back at the idiotic thief.

Sander saw the +anima boy flinch, but after a brief glance his way, his eyes did indeed turn towards the bandit. It seemed his startled warning had served its purpose.
Sander watched with tense, anticipated interest; the unfamiliar boy's ears folded back to his scalp and he growled, circling the thief before dashing to the side. The words that spilled from the theif's lips could've led him to blend right in with his Dignitas faction mates. The man hadn't understood the boy's motion at first, but when a rope coiled around the bandit's legs and left him to topple over he saw what the stranger had been doing.
The wolf +anima was over the thief in seconds. Sander felt an uncertain pang. ...Would the +anima kill the bandit? He easily could if he wanted to. He frowned slightly; it wasn't that the thief didn't deserve it, but he'd seen enough death and violence to haunt his sleep until the day he died. The man briefly debated on whether to simply stop watching and turn his gaze away, but in the end, he found himself clumsily rushing over towards the +anima and the human, his sword still drawn.
"Hey hey!" A slight slur was audible in his tone, but he worked to sound as sober as possible; he'd had plenty of practice when it came to faking it. "Disgusting human being or not, let's not let this get out of hand! Shall I fetch a village guard?" The man offered, addressing the +anima boy.

Teriel looked up at the man who was now nearby. "I wasn't going to kill him. Nobody deserves that kind of thing!" He spat in clear displeasure. "Now let this be a warning not to mess with me again." He grumbled, leaving a small cut on the thief's cheek before letting him up, watching the failed bandit scamper away. A sigh escaped him.
"So, who are you anyways? My name is Teriel Aika. I run deliveries for Vindico. On my own accord that is, but I am mostly a traveling entertainer." He said introducing himself. A new cheery state seemed to enlighten his recently deadly looking state. He never could stay mad for long, his friend Patti had actually worried about him being taken advantage when he left.

Sander watched the thief scurry away. According to the +anima, he'd never had any plans to kill him. The older man scratched the back of his head."S-sorry... These last few years have made it easy to assume the worst in people, you know?" If his days at the press in Astar had worn down his image of the creatures called humans, the war had utterly destroyed it.
The +anima unexpectedly introduced himself. A Vindico boy, huh? A brightness entered his demeanor as he spoke that hadn't been there before, replacing the coldness he'd faced the bandit with. The man blinked. "My name is Sander Cadby. I'm...well I'm..." His voice trailed off. He probably shouldn't mention that he was a part of Dignitas, huh? Not to a +anima, unless he either wanted to scare it off or start a fight...and he didn't want to risk having the boy's previous ferocity turned towards him. "I'm a journalist, from Astar. I'm out this way for a bit of research." Not entirely a lie, but certainly not the truth.
Wanting to quickly pull the subject away, he tilted his head. "A traveling entertainer? What's your art?"

"Sander." He repeated to himself. "Nice to meet you." He smiled lightly as he heard the man's occupational work. "So. Do you work for yourself or do you work under a faction?" He asked curiously. He could only wonder if this man was of another such faction that drafted. "I can do a few things. Puppetry work and comedy." He figured he might as well just mention his best things, since the other stuff might bore him.
"So what are you exactly looking to report on anyways? Maybe I could help you out with finding what you are looking for or something interesting." He suggested the idea for helping. Teriel didn't have too much more to do anyways at that very point in time. He probably needed to set up camp for the night in a few hours or so.

Sander gave a wordless stammer at the question. He bit his lip, debating on whether to manage another lie or not. Eventually, he shook his head. "I used to work for myself - I still plan to again - but right now, well... Please don't get nervous, but I'm part of Dignitas. I was drafted in, and the research I'm out doing right now is actually on orders from the higher-ups there. I'm supposed to making a report on the amount of +anima presence in the area." He scratched the back of his head. "Thanks for the offer, but I don't suppose that's the kind of thing you'd want to help with, huh?" He sighed. "I miss the days when I could write up whatever I wanted."
"Puppetry and comedy?" He echoed, wanting to shift the subject back towards the boy's line of work and away from his. He casually crossed his arms. "Sounds like a fresh line of work. Do you make a good living off of it?" Hopefully that wasn't too personal of question.
