~F.A.Q.~
Q. Can human characters become +anima?
A. Yes, they can! Although I'd want such a thing to take place during an RP, rather than being a simple decision to change race. If you have a human character that you want listed as a +anima, please PM me or another staffer and let us know so that we can edit/move their profile page and change their member group. Please include a link to the RP thread where the change took place, and also let us know what faction they are going to join. Unless they were in Vindico, they would have to change faction in such a situation as Supernus and Dignitas obviously don't allow +anima. The only exceptions are human manga canons, like Igneous or Marca - I want them to stay human.
Q. Can +anima characters become humans then as well?
A. Yup! +Anima characters can lose their anima and become normal humans. However, since it is stated in the plot of this RP that +anima are reverting to normal humans less and less commonly, this should be a fairly rare occurrence. Note that unless they want to turn against their former fellow +anima, they will probably wind up in the Vindico faction, as it is the only faction that allows both humans and +anima. Caminus is an exception that will allow previous members to stay even if they become human again.
Q. Can I have something like a dragon or unicorn +anima?
A. No. Such +anima can't exist as that goes against the very +anima concept. For someone to become a +anima, the applicable animal has to be nearby. Obviously, the like of dragons and unicorns aren't going to be nearby as they don't exist (even in the +anima world)! That goes for extinct animals, like dinosaurs, too.
Q. Can a character have more than one anima?
A. No. They're each based on only one animal.
Q. They can't have more than one anima even if they became +anima through
implantation?
A. No. Well...
technically, yes, such a thing is possible in the series.
But no, it's not allowed on this board. It would make certain characters way more powerful than others.Q. Why is there an age limit on most human characters, but none on +anima characters?
A. Because it is impossible for +anima to remain neutral in the war, as they are specifically being sought out - even small children. Whereas, technically speaking, there would still be many neutral humans that wouldn't be involved in the process. Therefore, the human factions can afford to be a little picky, and probably wouldn't accept small children whom they felt wouldn't be able to fight. The only exceptions are humans that ally with the +anima in Vindico, as even those too young to be in the government's factions may sometimes want to help the +anima.
Q. Then why can't neutral humans be played?
A. Simply because I want every character in a faction (or as a spy/mercenary) and involved in the war for the sake of consistency. I suppose if a bunch of people request to play neutral humans I'll allow it, but as of right now, I don't feel it's necessary.
Q. Will more factions ever be added?
A. We'll see. Right now, I can't think of anything that would need to be added, but it might depend on where the plot goes.
Q. Can my character start a new faction?
A. Well...if you can think of one. As I said above, I can't think of anything else specific that would be distinct from the other six, but if you can...then go for it! Such a thing is allowed! Of course, you would need to PM your idea to me and discuss it, since I would need to approve it and get sections and information for it set up. The only rule is that if you do decide to make a new faction, it must be open for other characters to join.
Q. What translation of the series did you get the versions of the terms and names used on this board from?
A. All names and terms are based on the versions from the Tokyopop translation.
Q. Are all the locations on this board taken directly from the manga?
A. No. I tried to use as many as I could from the manga, but a lot of them I simply came up with and added in order to have more territories, bases, and more variety. Specifically, all the locations within Astaria are from the manga, but I had to add a ton to Sailand in order to even it out, as only three Sailand cities were ever featured in the manga.
Q. What's with all the Latin?
A. Technically, the term "anima" means something akin to soul, spirit, or vital force in Latin, which is what inspired me to have a slightly Latin theme to the names here. Some rough translations (keep in mind that I got all this from online dictionaries, so I don't know how accurate it really is) for the terms used on the board:
Bellum = War
Supernus = Superior
Dignitas = Dignity
Acies = Army
Fatum = Fate
Vindico = Protect
Caminus = Forgotten
